This week we had to add two more services to accommodate those who are coming!

Last week we had over 430 and probably will have nearly 500 by week's end.  We are having 8-12 new people in every Sunday and Thursday evening service.  We asked the people how many they are helping with the food they receive and the best estimate we can come up with is that 2500 people a week are receiving help.  We had a transvestite in the service tonight and when I asked the congregation "would you like to be clean" from the Ezekiel 36 passage he nodded his head.  The gospel of God is for everyone.  We are preaching through Romans in the evening service.

Gospel Response and Baptisms
We had six individuals respond to the gospel tonight with an upraised hand and publically confess before others that Jesus is Lord.  Yesterday we made a trip to the ocean and baptized two individuals.  Two weeks from now we will have another baptismal service and several individuals have already indicated their desire to follow the Lord in this way.

He is saving His people from their sins.

This evening's service had nearly 90 in attendance.  One lady who lives in our neighborhood and for 17 years did not know we were here wanted to walk another direction but reversed coarse and came into the service.  She stayed afterwards and put her faith in Christ, receiving the gift of righteousness.  It was beautiful to listen to her pray as she called out to Christ.  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday's services have seen someone come to Christ.  He is saving His people from their sins.

Thank you for your continued prayer and encouragement.

We had a full house tonight with nearly 90 in attendance

We had a full  house tonight with nearly 90 in attendance.  During the closing prayer nearly a dozen raised their hands saying they wanted to put their faith in Christ.  After they raised their hands I asked how many of them would testify publically that they put their faith in Christ and quite a few of them spoke out all  at once that they put their faith in Christ.

It was a beautiful service.  It has been quite a week.

The chapel was full with 85 people in tonight's service

The chapel was full with 85 people in tonight's service.  At the end a lady asked to give a testimony.  She was here last week for the first time and announced tonight that she had given her heart to the Lord and was a new creature.  She confessed the Lord publically.  In our after service prayer meeting a lady who was here for the third week in a row broke into tears and testified that she had been away from the Lord for over a year but she was coming home.  She said she found a welcome love in this place that touched her heart.  It has been a joy to see the Lord moving among the people.

Pray that we will continue to be a beacon of hope and light in the East Village.  Trader Joes in calling us several times a week during the day to come pick up donations.  The Lord has opened up this beautiful relationship to show His love by providing food for the poor and widows.

Our beneficial deeds are causing many to hear the Word of God

Last Saturday over 40 students from BBC spent the day evangelizing in the city.

It looks as though I will have four college interns for six weeks and two of them for the whole summer.

We have had visitors in everyone of our services for the past several weeks.

Thursday at midnight 11 christian college students from Cooper Union, a engineering and architechural college in our neighborhood, came to help us with our Trader Joe's pickup.  It was refreshing to see their zeal for the Lord and listen to them testify and pray.

Conservatively nearly 1000 individuals a week (the 300 attendees represent over 1000 in their homes) in our neighborhood are receiving the benefit of our labor of love, remembering the poor.

These are difficult times for many people.  Our beneficial deeds are causing many to come to the mission chapel to hear the Word of God.

7 van loads of food in one weekend..

We picked up 7 van loads of food this past weekend and had 60 people Sunday morning, 75 people Sunday night and 130 people on Tuesday.  I anticipate that we will have nearly 70 in the service tonight.

We are very busy here. We would always welcome support for our ministry.

Ministry Need: We need a inexpensive laptop...

We need a inexpensive laptop for James to prepare his notes and put on a Chinese Bible Text.  We are projecting the text at every service and I would love to see him be able to do this.  I speak to several people every day.  Some of them I meet in front of the building.  Total strangers from the neighborhood are coming to the door to drop off donations.  I met a young couple the other night who came back this evening with a clothes donation even though they did not come in for the service.  I am encouraged by two Cooper Union students who attended Sunday's service and will be going back to their Christian group on Campus as well as a Christian group at NYU and telling them about our distribution to the poor.  They asked me to come and speak at one of their meetings.  It looks as though the Lord may be opening a door to that one facet of our mission statement we have as of yet not begun--ministry to the college campuses.

I have been able to build relationships with the men that are helping every night.  It has proved to be great a opportunity to disciple as the men are being trained to serve as well as learn the Scripture.  Sammy is proving to be a wonderful assistant and we have non-stop Bible conversations.  Every time we go into the open air at Avenue D there are many conversations.  More and more people are coming to the services.  We had three visitors at the service this evening.  I have a conversation with at least one person after each service.

Thank you for all your encouragement!
